Why Reiki? ...
Some of the other forms of healing rely on outside influences to help the body to heal, or they take away the physical sensations of the sickness or injury. While pain medication maybe necessary after a surgery, or to manage chronic pain, it does not do anything to promote the healing process. The body is made up of more than just one thing. There is the physicalflesh, bone, and blood; there is the emotional mind; the senses; the spiritual; and the ethereal. Traditional methods of dealing with distress, disease, trauma, and injury all deal with specific areas. They do not cross over to any other part of the whole body to treat what may manifest. For example the mind is not considered important for the healing process if a leg is the physical sign of discomfort. This is an individual approach and singles out the main dysfunctional area and does not recognize the necessity of treating the other “bodies” that make up the whole. Reiki does what the other systems of healing do not. Reiki treats the whole body by encompassing all the other parts in every treatment session. Because of its intelligence the Reiki energy knows where to go and what needs to be healed. In the process it affects the body as a whole instead of many parts. Reiki is a simple, powerful system of healing the whole person. It works on all levels of life and does not subscribe to any religious or spiritual theology. It is a very intimate loving act of healing with a respectful personal touch. The healing process should be one of freedom and trust; Reiki embraces that and more. Also recognize that no system in and of itself is complete. Reiki coupled with other forms of healing can be the most powerful and dramatic methodology for the complete and total well being of a whole body. |
